Terms of Service

Last updated: June 1, 2025

1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using CiteScope.io ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not access the Service.

2. Description of service

CiteScope.io provides AI-powered academic research paper generation with citation verification. The Service retrieves sources from third-party academic databases including CrossRef, Semantic Scholar, and OpenAlex, and generates structured research papers based on user-submitted topics.

3. Acceptable use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You may not:

4. Academic integrity

Important: CiteScope is a research assistance tool. Users are responsible for ensuring their use of generated content complies with their institution's academic integrity policies. We do not condone submitting AI-generated work as your own without proper disclosure where required.

5. Credits and billing

Access to the Service requires credits. Credits are consumed upon successful paper generation. Failed generation attempts due to system errors do not consume credits. Credits are non-refundable unless required by applicable law. Subscription credits expire at the end of each billing period.

6. Intellectual property

You retain ownership of the research topics you submit. The generated paper content, to the extent it is original to our system, is licensed to you for personal and commercial use subject to these Terms. Our underlying technology, pipeline, and software remain our exclusive property.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. While we verify citations against CrossRef, we cannot guarantee that all sources will remain accessible or that generated content will be error-free. You should independently review all citations before submission.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CiteScope.io shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

9. Changes to terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
